If you own and intend to use a vehicle on a public highway which is over under 3.5 tonne in weight is classed as a van.

Why use CRS Consultants as your broker?

CRS Consultants have been offering support and solutions as a leading VanInsurance broker for the last 33 years and some of our very first clients are still with us today and the director of our company still deals with his file on a regular basis.. We only deal with the top UK insurers and over this time have developed many exclusive products with companies who we can rely on to continue to deliver very high standards, such as Aviva, LV & Equity Red Star.

We understand the need to keep your vehicle on the road following a road traffic accident and are one of the few brokers in the UK who give FREE benefits. For example, all our policyholders have access to a free 24 Hours Claims Management Service. We are also able to offer at no cost to you a like for like replacement vehicle in the event of a non fault accident.

What do I need for my Van Insurance Cover?

This is determined by what exactly your van will be used for and as such we can again tailor a product around each individual customers needs but how you are carrying your goods determine what lorry insurance cover you will require:

* Social Domestic and Pleasure Insurance – usually for personal use only and are generally used for people who have hobbies and need something larger than a car.

* Carriage of Own Goods Insurance – for the carriage of your business goods only and a typical example is a Groundworker, Scaffolder etc.

* Courier (Carriage of Goods For Hire and Reward) – this cover will be required if you are charging to deliver someone else’s goods

Van Insurance follows the traditional types of cover of Comprehensive, Third Party Fire and Theft and Third Party Only. All insurance policies will carry an excess – the first part of any insurance claim which you are responsible for. Typically the excess is £500 however under many circumstances this can be reduced if necessary with an extra premium being paid.

Windscreen cover is usually available on Van Insurance Policies but only on a Comprehensive basis you can request this to be added to your policy but may be subject to excess and limitation of cover.

Can I get cover for my Panel Van?

We can arrange cover for all types of policyholders which include private customers, sole proprietors, business partnerships, courier companies with operating licence, charities and other organisations.

Who is able to drive my Van?

Just like all types of motor insurance any request can be made on your van insurance to add permitted drivers to drive your van on your behalf. Insured Only, specifying named drivers or even Any Driver Over 25 years of age are usually available but this does have implications on costings.

Am I able to drive on the continent with my Van Insurance policy?

UK Van Insurance is the traditional contract but over the last decade or so it is becoming more regular that European use is required to deliver to multinational customers but also to go on holidays abroad with the need to carry more luggage. Temporary foreign use insurance to European countries can be easily issued with a Green card extension.

How many vehicles can I put on the same insurance policy?

We are a specialist Van insurance broker and have access to the UK market for all types of policies. Our typical UK Van insurance schemes are designed for policyholders with up to 5 vehicles, but do not despair we can also offer Fleet Insurance policies for businesses who offer more If you would like more information please call CRS on 01606 48521 or email info@crs-consultants.com

What extras can I have for my Van insurance?

Protected No Claims Discount is an option for all your Van Insurance policies held through us. The small cost to protect your no claims discount following an accident may be a good option.

Breakdown cover is available and is very much affordable when compared to the loss of business you may undertake

Goods-in-Transit may be required by individual companies responsible for shipping and delivering items for other people. This is explained in more detail under the Goods In Transit tab above.

Trailer cover can be added to cover trailers whilst not attached to the vehicle or even ones whilst attached, hired in, loaned or in storage in the depot.
