Icelandic volcano eruption disrupts UK flights
The ash has become a nuisance in recent years, delaying and cancelling hundreds of flights all over Europe costing both airlines and passengers billions.
This year's erruption is feared to be ten times more powerful that last, and although that sounds worrying it may be a good thing. Alan Scattergood, a local volcano enthusiast believes that because of the increased power of the eruption the ash particles may be larger in size therefore making them fall to earth sooner than in previous eruptions.
This reasoning from Alan could mean that the ash floating over our Isles may be thinner and disperse slightly faster, cancelling less flights in the process.
If you are planning or have booked a flight in the coming days or weeks you may find your flight may have been postponed or at worse, cancelled. What can you do about this? Well unfortunately we cannot control Mother Nature and although you may have purchased travel insurance, "Acts of God" may be excluded from your cover.
Here at CRS Consultants we would advise you to speak to your brokers or even come in and pay us a visit to discover more about what cover you have and what cover we may be able to provide.
