After leaving school I trained for four years in cost accountancy with various firms in industry. Then in 1969 I came into the Insurance business, the last 5 years of which was as an Inspector with National Mutual Life before setting up my own firm of CRS Consultants in 1977.
I thoroughly enjoy what I and CRS Consultants do as we make a positive difference to our clients whether it is on the Financial Services side or the General Insurance side of their requirements.
My clients include many local people and business owners and professionals resulting in many personal recommendations and referrals. I am very proud of the business I have built and the excellent team I have around me. We are constantly evolving to meet the needs of our clients and to keep up with the constant changes within the financial services industry. My team are very loyal and client focused with a strong work ethic. Our motto is “to look after our clients as we would wish to be dealt with ourselves and to work at all times in our clients best interest”, and that is what we do. 2017 will mark our 40th year!!!
I am married to Andrea and we have a son Nicholas. We all share an interest in old/classic vehicles of different sorts although my main passion is with the various Bond cars and also other inventions of Lawrie Bond. We rebuild, maintain and also show some of these at various shows including The Royal Cheshire Show. I am also an active member of the Rotary Club of Northwich.
I enjoy working at CRS and being part of a hard working client focused team. I hold the Diploma in Financial Planning and I am working towards Chartered status having recently passed the Advanced Pensions Exam.
Most of my time is focused on pensions and retirement planning. The real enjoyment of being a financial planner is providing clients with bespoke, holistic advice that allows them to enjoy their lives, instead of worrying about what’s going on in the world financially. Often we meet clients that have worked hard and saved, but don’t really know how to use their money. The best feeling is when you highlight what options they have – retirement, semi-retirement, helping other family members or just enjoying themselves more.
I have an active family life outside work and enjoy spending time with my wife and two children.
I joined CRS Consultants in Nov 2016 as a Financial Adviser and it’s a pleasure to be working alongside so many friendly and hardworking colleagues.
Previously I had served as an Air Traffic Controller in the RAF for 23 years; then spent 12 years working in different sectors of the financial services gaining both the Diploma in Financial Advice and Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice in the process.
I am married to Sharon and have two grown up children: Lindsey and Andrew. I enjoy most sports especially football and golf.
Having joined CRS Consultants Ltd in July 2005 and after passing exams to become a Financial Service Administrator I subsequently continued my studies and training to become a qualified Mortgage and Equity Release Adviser.
I specialise in all types of Mortgages including First Time Buyers, Help to Buy, Buy to Lets, Subprime and Specialist Lending and we have access to Bridging and 2nd charge mortgages. I provide a personal and friendly service.
I also advise on Equity Release products (Lifetime Mortgages) and Home Reversion Plans including lump sum payments, drawdown facilities, roll-up interest and interest payments.

My background is in Estates & Trusts, I worked in this capacity at Barclays for 12 years.
I have worked at CRS Consultants for 7 seven years now and have seen my role progress to be the Head of Administration as well as being a Client Manager.
My duties involve Client Management, liaising between Advisers and Client Managers, examining business procedures and making sure back office systems remain current and up to date.
I provide a high level of service to our clients and enjoy interaction with a broad range of people, helping them to achieve their financial goals. I also take an active interest in investments and hold a number of CIB, CISI and Securities Institute qualifications. I hope to expand on this and become more involved in the Compliance side of the business in the future.
Outside of work I have an active family life with my Wife, Daughter and Dog, and I’m something of a music obsessive as well as enjoying being part of a number of Nature & Conservation charities.
I joined CRS Consultants Limited on the 1st July 1999 after completing 23 years in the Army, which was an enjoyable career.
I currently work as the Assistant Compliance Officer which entails ensuring that all advice, paperwork and files are compliant at all times and preparing for Compliance Visits from Three Sixty Services. I also carry out the duties as a client manager providing a high level of service to my client bank.
I am also involved in helping other members of staff on any areas they are unsure of and also the Back Office systems.
I have worked at CRS Consultants in various roles, I have previously worked on the Personal and Commercial Insurance Services teams. I am now enjoying working towards becoming a Qualified Financial Adviser. I currently work alongside and support other financial advisers in a client facing role. So far in my training I am finding it really interesting to learn how the pension and investment legislation has changed and how it keeps evolving.
I also am the IT coordinator in the office.
I joined CRS Consultants in 1990 as an Administration Clerk in the General Department. After spending many years in the General Department, a vacancy came available in the Life Department. I took the position as a Client Manager. As well as looking after the administration of my clients, I am involved with Clever Adviser and the monthly procedures.
We have a great team at CRS Consultants and I enjoy working here, may it always continue.
I started working for CRS Consultants in 2011 as my children are now grown up and I wanted to make a career for myself. Since starting my knowledge has grown and I have built up a rapport with many clients over the years.
Once I had become established my role, I was keen to keep learning and I became involved with Clever Adviser increasing my knowledge of financial services even further. I enjoy learning about the funds and the methodology behind them and I am due to start taking exams later in the year.
I enjoy working at CRS Consultants and being part of a friendly and loyal team.
After serving 31 years with HMRC, I took voluntary redundancy and joined CRS Consultants in August 2014. This has been a significant but enjoyable change to my career.
My role here is as a Client Manager which involves everyday administration, as well as servicing Client records and ensuring that all is up to date and in order. There has been a lot to learn and my journey so far has proved to be very interesting and varied.
I joined CRS in January 2016 as Client Manager. I provide administration support to the financial advisers to assist them in their Client Financial Planning. My daily role includes preparing portfolio valuations, processing new business and keeping the company database up to date. I enjoy the diversity of my role as it interesting and challenging along with a friendly, hardworking team makes CRS a really nice place to work.
I have worked at CRS Consultants for 20 years and it has changed over that time. In my role I assist both the Financial Consultants and Client Managers with their day to day administration. The friendly team are great to work with, we work hard but we also have fun.
I enjoy holidays and I recently went to Florida on honeymoon with my wife.
Commercial Insurance Services
Commercial & Personal Lines General Business Manager
After spending over 30 years working in the International Commercial insurance sector based in Paris, I returned to England in 2013 and joined CRS as General Business Manager. My duties include the placing and maintenance of complex insurance risks and advising clients on the products that best protect them against financial and reputational loss. As the head of the Insurance Department, including Personal Lines, I take great pride in nurturing and encouraging business and personal growth within my team.
I am an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner.
Having worked in the insurance industry for over thirty years within insurance brokers and companies. I have accepted the role of General Insurance Manager from January 2017 and I look forward to reinforcing our position as the preferred insurance provider to the local business community and beyond.
Having a broad knowledge of the UK insurance market my role will be to ensure we are correctly placed to understand and service the needs of businesses regardless of size, ensuring they are correctly insured at a competitive premium.
I have been working at CRS Consultants since the summer of 2012, operating within the General Insurance Team. My role revolves around advising commercial clients on their insurance needs ranging from motor fleet insurance through to let property portfolios and unusual risks such as flood prone and subsidence hit properties. Over my time at CRS I have gained the Certificate in Insurance delivered by the Chartered Insurance Institute and am currently studying towards a Diploma in Insurance.
I am a keen supporter of a Championship football team, Newcastle United.
I started my career in the Insurance Industry 5 years ago after graduating from Leeds University, since then, my experience has been in both sales, underwriting and broking roles.
I have been working at CRS Consultants Ltd for just over a year, my role within the business is a Commercial Account Executive.
I work within a small dedicated team dealing predominantly with new business whereby I identify prospective commercial clients, arrange appointments to visit the clients in order to establish and review their insurance requirements. I am involved in producing marketing literature and website content to support marketing campaigns in order to advertise and promote our products.
I also service and develop a book of existing business, including preparation of presentations to insurers, negotiating premiums with underwriters whilst maintaining good working relationships with my clients to secure renewal. I have experience dealing with all commercial classes of insurance in accordance with the FCA. I specialise in Motor Fleets, HGV and Goods in Transit.
I began my career in insurance at the age of 15 and have enjoyed my various roles within CRS Consultants over the past 11 years. Currently in an administrative and support role, my main responsibilities are the maintenance of various commercial and general insurance policies, corresponding with clients and insurers alike to ensure a seamless customer experience. Over the years there have been many changes to legislation and therefore compliance requirements within the insurance sector and it is my responsibility to ensure all procedures are being followed within the General Insurance team, a role which I have been enjoying for the last 3 years.
With a background in accountancy via a Business degree at DeMontfort University I first started working for CRS Consultants in January 2013.
My roles are varied with the majority of my working day occupied with the administration of both General and Commercial insurance policies. This ranges from adjusting and incepting policies to communicating instructions to Insurers and in turn to my colleagues. I have also taken on the added responsibilities of supporting our company secretary with our business accounts.
Personal Insurance Services
I have been with CRS since 2009 within our Personal Lines Insurance Team, working as Personal Lines Account Executive. I have recently taken on a wider role as General Insurance Co-ordinator.
As a team we offer a wide range of Personal Insurance products, including some more specialist Insurance cover. My team role enables me to have face to face dealings with our clients offering a Personal Insurance Service locally. Our aim is to give impartial, independent advice and to look after our clients as we would like to be dealt with ourselves.
After completing my A-Levels, I started working in insurance in December 2011 for an independent broker.
I worked for this broker for 4 years dealing mostly with Personal Lines but also small Commercial insurance. I gained a lot of experience working both face-to-face and on the telephone. My duties involved New Business, Renewals and Claims.
I then moved to Insurance recruitment where I worked with a number of Insurance businesses covering the north of England including large international brokers and underwriters. This gave me a deeper understanding of the insurance sector.
In September 2016, I joined CRS as a Personal Lines Account Handler. My role involves dealing with all aspects of personal lines from motor to household insurance including complex risks such as properties at risk of flood and subsidence. I take pride in providing good customer service and finding good quality policies at competitive prices.
I began my career in Insurance at the age of 18 and have been a part of the CRS General Insurance team since 2009. Although wide ranging, my main role is to provide advice on a number of different personal insurances to our ever growing customer base. I take pride in helping clients find the right cover for their needs for competitive premiums, especially when they are struggling to find the correct cover such as for flood hit or high value homes.
Accounts Management & Human Resources
I have worked at CRS since 2007 looking after the company accounts, human resources and keeping a close eye on our client money, ensuring FCA compliance. In that time I have seen the company successfully go from a partnership to a Limited company at the end of 2007. Previous to working at CRS I spent 20 years, with a baby break, working for Chartered Accountants as an auditor and management accountant, which gave me the skills to become the Company Secretary.
I have worked at CRS Consultants since 2000 and my role within the company has changed a lot during this time. I started as a Client Manger within the Financial Services Department and progressed to be the Department Supervisor. More recently I have changed direction and I am now PA to the Managing Director, dealing more specifically with his managerial tasks and specific projects. I am confident that I am still able to turn my hand to the Client Manager role when required and I enjoy working with the team as a whole providing assistance where I can.
Whilst not at work I enjoy spending time with my family.
